Skills
Updating a skill
Edit your own skills, and copy or visit the ones you can't edit here.
When a skill's output drifts, fix the skill once. Every run after that uses the new version.
Edit your own skill
- Open the Skills tab in the agent's Computer panel.
- Click the skill. Its editor opens.
- Change the fields or the instructions.
- Click Save.
Anyone who can edit the agent can edit its skills. The change reaches everyone who uses the agent and its tasks. It also reaches every agent that subscribes to it.
Save stays greyed out until you change something. If you leave with unsaved edits, you're asked to keep editing or discard them.
To rename a skill, choose Rename in its row's ⋯ menu. Supporting files have Rename and Delete in their own ⋯ menu.
Or ask the agent
Tell the agent what to change, such as "update the invoice skill to round to the nearest cent". It shows an approval card before saving, in every permission mode.
Skills you can't edit here
Library and subscribed skills are read-only on this agent, for everyone. They run the same way as your own.
| Skill | Marked with | What you can do |
|---|---|---|
| From the Agents Library | Library icon | Run it, or clone it |
| From a subscription | Source agent's picture | Run it, go to it, or clone it |
A read-only skill opens greyed out. The only button is Clone.
Library skills
An installed library agent comes with its publisher's skills. They update when the publisher improves them. Some work in the background and aren't listed. Their Always-on skills apply on your installed agent and its tasks.
You can also add your own skills to an installed agent. See Cloning agents.
Subscribed skills
To change a subscribed skill, choose Go to skill in its row's ⋯ menu. That opens it on its own agent. You can edit it there if you can edit that agent. See Subscribing skills.
Clone a skill
- Open the skill, or its row's ⋯ menu.
- Click Clone.
- Edit the copy that opens, then click Save.
The copy lands on this agent with "(copy)" in its name. It carries the skill's notes and code files. Uploaded files, such as Excel files and PDFs, aren't copied yet, and you're told which.
A copy is yours. It no longer gets updates from the original.
Delete a skill
Click Delete in the skill's editor or its row's ⋯ menu, then confirm.
It deletes the skill and all its supporting files for good. Agents that subscribe to it lose it too.
