Agent chat

Approvals

Cards that pause an agent until you give the OK.

An agent works in a loop. It plans a step, uses a tool, checks the result and repeats until the job is done. Approvals are the brake you control.

When an agent needs your OK, it stops and shows an approval card in chat. The card says exactly what it wants to do. That action waits for your answer.

What asks

What asks depends on the permission mode. New chats start in Auto-accept edits. There, reading, searching the web and editing notes, Excel files and PDFs just run. A card appears when the agent wants to:

  • use a connected app like Xero, even just to look
  • save or change a skill
  • send a Telegram message to another chat
  • ask you a question

Saving a skill and the agent's questions ask in every mode, Bypass all included.

Approve a card

  1. Read what the card says the agent wants to do.
  2. Click Allow to run it, or Deny to skip it.
  3. The card goes away. The agent carries on, or adjusts if you denied.

Always allowRuns it and switches you to Auto-accept edits on this agent.
Bypass allRuns it and switches you to Bypass all on this agent.

Always allow shows only where Auto-accept edits would silence the card. Both buttons change your standing mode on this agent.

Questions

Some cards ask for a decision. Pick one or more options, or choose Other to type your own. Add comment adds a note to an option. Click Submit to continue, or Dismiss to skip.

With several questions, step through them with Previous and Next, or the numbered tabs. Submit appears once all are answered.

In Plan first mode, a big job starts with a Plan proposed card. Approve lets it start. Reject sends it back undone, and the agent proposes again once you say what to change.

Forms

For several details at once, the agent may post a form. Fill it in and click Submit, or Skip. The agent's turn has already ended, so your answers arrive as your next message. A form never times out, but closes once the conversation moves on.

Schedules

The agent never sets up a schedule by itself. It posts a Schedule card filled in with what it understood: when it runs, where it runs and what it does each time. Change anything, then click Schedule to create it, or Cancel. See Schedules.

Changes you can read first

Some cards show the change itself. A note edit shows before and after, with Replace or Cancel. A new note shows its content, with Create. A skill update shows the change, with Update. A Xero manual journal lists each line's account, debit and credit under Post this manual journal to Xero?

Note cards ask only in Ask each time or Plan first.

If you walk away

While a card waits, the browser tab reads (1) Approval needed. If you've let the browser show notifications, you also get one when the tab is in the background. The browser asks the first time you click a card.

After about ten minutes, the card turns into Approval timed out and the turn ends without that action. Send your message again to carry on.

Turns you start from Telegram send their cards there, as ✅ Approve and 🚫 Deny buttons.

Who approves?

Cards go to the person who sent the message. On a shared agent, nobody approves a teammate's actions by accident.
