Documents

Documents overview

Every type of document an agent can hold, and how to find them.

Documents are what agents work on. Each belongs to an agent or task, and that agent's chat can read it.

The Computer panel

An agent's documents live in its Computer panel, beside the chat. If the panel is hidden, click the computer icon at the top right.

Icons along the panel's top switch tabs. Hover one to see its name:

  • Documents, the agent's documents and folders
  • Skills, its skills
  • Channels, where you can message it from, such as Telegram
  • Subscribe, the agents it subscribes to

The Search field sits under the tabs.

Open a document and it shows beside the list. To give it more room, hide the list with Hide documents sidebar.

The Computer panel beside the chat, on the Documents tab: the four tab icons, the Search field under them, and the Documents heading with its ⋯ and ⊕.

Each name below is how the ⊕ menu spells it. Artifact is the one type only the agent makes.

A Browser tab, where you watch the agent use its own web browser, is not available yet. See Browser.

Sorting

The ⋯ menu on the Documents heading sorts by latest, by name, by doc type or by task. Sorting by doc type groups rows under each type's name. The same menu collapses or opens every folder at once.

Favourites stay at the top in every sort. To add one, choose Favourite in a row's ⋯ menu.

Finding things

Search finds documents by title. Open it with ⌘K, or the Search field in the Computer panel. Choose Deep search to match their contents. Opened on an agent, it searches only that agent. Press Backspace to search everywhere.

Before you type, it lists recent agents and documents.

Search opened from an agent, before typing: scoped to that agent, with recent agents and documents.

Ask the agent

The agent searches first, then reads. Questions like these work:

  • Do we have anything on the Hillview account?
  • What does the March statement say about bank charges?
  • Across all six contracts, which have a break clause?

It searches the agent's documents and any it subscribes to. Its answer cites what it read, and Turn details shows which files it opened.

If it can't find something, the document probably lives in another agent. See What your agent sees.

View only and Viewer, Cannot Edit

Uploaded Office files show View only, and the agent makes any changes. On an agent shared with you as a viewer, documents show Viewer, Cannot Edit.
