Agent chat
Mentions
Point the agent at exactly the document, folder, table or task you mean.
A mention points the agent at one thing already in the workspace. It reads what you named instead of searching for it.
Compare @September supplier statement against @Payments log and list what doesn't match.
Mention something
- Type @ in the message box, then the first letters of a name.
- Pick it from the list. It turns into a chip in your message.
- Finish the ask, and press Enter.
A bare @ lists recent items. If nothing matches what you type, the list stays closed.
What the list offers
The list groups what it finds. A group appears only when it has a match.
| Group | What you pick | What the agent gets |
|---|---|---|
| Tasks | One of this agent's tasks | That task, and a way into its documents |
| Main agent | Inside a task, the agent it belongs to | That agent, and a way into its documents |
| Tables and reports | A table in one of the agent's Books | The table, to read its rows |
| Folders | A folder, the agent's own or one lent to it | Everything in the folder |
| Documents | One document | That exact file |
Documents
A mention picks exactly one file, even among five called "P&L". It reaches anything in the agent or its subscriptions.
To change an existing document, mention it in your ask so the agent works on that file. See Editing.
Folders
A folder mention points at everything in it. Use it when the answer is spread across several files, such as summarise what's in @Invoices/2026.
The list shows the agent's own folders first, then folders a subscription lends it.
Book tables
Each table in the agent's Books appears under Tables and reports. Type the Book's name to list all its tables.
The agent reads the table's rows directly, so ask for exactly what you need, such as which rows in @Suppliers have no bank details?
Tasks
From the main agent's chat, the list offers its tasks. Inside a task, it offers the Main agent instead.
Mention a task with a job, such as get @Q3 close to reconcile the bank feed, and the agent hands the job to that task. The task works on it in its own chat. See Creating task agent.
People
In team agent chat, the list also offers the agent and your teammates. Mentioning a teammate gets their attention. Team agent chat is not available yet.
/ for skills
Type / to list the agent's skills and pick one. It sits in your message as a chip, and the agent follows that skill.
/clear, /reset and /new are different. Typed on their own, they offer Clear chat, which clears the chat.
Mentions work anywhere in a sentence, and you can use several. "Using @Rate Card, re-price @Quote draft" reads like the instruction it is.
