One-time reminders

Have an agent do something once, at a time you choose.

A one-time reminder is a schedule set to run once. At the time you pick, the agent runs your instructions in its chat. Use it for a nudge, such as remind me at 4pm to call the bank, or for work that should wait, such as at 2am, refresh the ageing report.

Ask the agent

Ask in chat and say when, such as in 20 minutes or Friday at 9. The agent replies with a Schedule card. Check the time and the chat it Runs in, then click Schedule. Nothing is set up until you do.

Set one yourself

Set a one-time reminder
  1. 1

    Open the Schedule tab

Click the + beside Tasks, or press ⌘ ⇧ O. On Windows, press Ctrl Shift O. Then pick the Schedule tab.

  2. 2

    Choose Once

    Under Repeats, choose Once.

  3. 3

    Pick the moment

Pick the Date, then the time and timezone. The line at the bottom reads it back, such as "Runs once, Fri 16 Oct, 09:00 SGT". It always reads back in Singapore time, whichever timezone you pick.

  4. 4

    Say what

Write what the agent should do or remind you of. If Runs in shows, pick the chat it lands in.

  5. 5

    Submit

Click Submit. The reminder is named from your first words.

A time that has already passed shows "That time has already passed" in red. Pick a later one.

Create a schedule with Repeats set to Once and the date picker open. The line at the bottom reads the moment back.

How it differs from a repeating schedule

One-time reminderRepeating schedule
RunsOnce, at a date and timeEvery interval or on chosen days
After it runsRemoves itself from the sidebarWaits for the next time
Good forA nudge, or work that should waitA routine report or check

The run itself stays in the chat after the reminder removes itself. A reminder that fails stays in the sidebar, greyed and marked Failed. One whose time passed while it couldn't run, such as while the agent was archived, shows as Missed.

Where it shows

Until it runs, the reminder sits in the agent sidebar under the chat it runs in, with a clock after its name. Hover it to see its time. It is also listed in Settings → Schedules.

When it runs, the chat shows a quiet "Received message" line with the reminder's name. The agent's answer follows, and activity marks point you to it.

Get it on Telegram

The schedule form has a Telegram switch. Once you have paired with the agent's Telegram bot, turn it on to send the result to your own Telegram chat with the agent.

You can also ask for a reminder from Telegram itself. The agent sets it up straight away, because Telegram can't show the card. In some workspaces it then asks you to finish in the app.

Get a reminder on Telegram
  1. 1

    Ask from Telegram

Message the agent's bot, such as remind me at 4pm to call the bank, ping me.

  2. 2

Open the agent in the app

Its chat shows your Telegram message and the agent's reply, with a reminder card.

  3. 3

    Turn it on

If the card says "Not on yet", click Confirm. Otherwise switch on Send this reminder to my Telegram.

The reminder card in the app chat: the reminder's name, the Send this reminder to my Telegram switch and Confirm.

Only you can turn the switch on. The agent can't send a reminder to Telegram by itself. The result goes only to your own private chat with the bot, never to a group.

The card changes to suit your setup. With several Telegram accounts paired, choose one under Send to. If your Telegram isn't linked yet, the card says so. Pair it first, then turn Telegram on in the reminder's Edit schedule.

After the reminder has run, its card reads "This reminder isn't available here". A deleted reminder shows the same line.

Change or delete one

Click the reminder's row in the agent sidebar to open Edit schedule. Change the time or the words, then click Save.

To delete it, click Delete in Edit schedule, then Delete schedule. You can also ask the agent to cancel it. You don't need to delete a reminder after it runs. It removes itself.
