UI artifacts
Dashboards, charts and one-page reports the agent builds for you.
Some answers work better as a page than as a note or a table. Ask for a dashboard, a chart, a calculator or a one-page summary, and the agent builds it. The result is called an artifact, and it's saved as a document on the agent.
"Build a dashboard of this month's sales by region from @Sales Book."
You can't create an artifact from the ⊕ menu. Only the agent makes them.
Two kinds
| Kind | What you get |
|---|---|
| Web page | Interactive, with charts, buttons and inputs |
| Markdown | A formatted page to read |
The agent picks the kind that suits the ask. Say which you want if it matters.
Open one
When the agent finishes, its reply shows a card for the artifact. Click Open. The artifact also appears in the agent's Documents list like any other document.
While the agent is still working, the page says it is still being written.
What a page can do
Web pages run in a sealed frame. Their buttons, charts and calculators work, but they can't reach the internet, your account or your other documents.
Pictures still show. That includes images from the web and pictures you uploaded to the agent. Clicking a link asks you first, then opens it in a new tab.
A page shows the figures the agent put in when it built it. Ask the agent to rebuild it when the data changes.
What you can't do
You can't type into an artifact. To change one, ask the agent, such as "add last month for comparison". It updates the same document, so the link stays the same.
Each update replaces the page. Earlier versions aren't kept, so ask for a new artifact if you want to keep the old one.
There is no download or export. For a file you can send, ask for a PDF or an Excel file.
To rename an artifact, click its title. To remove it, use Delete in its row's ⋯ menu on the Documents tab.
