Agent Library
Cloning agents
What you get when you install a library agent, what updates, and how to remove it.
Every library card says how it installs. Most say Installs your own copy. A few say Shared connection · read-only.
| Installs your own copy | Shared connection · read-only | |
|---|---|---|
| A new agent of yours | Yes | No |
| Your own documents, skills and tasks | Yes | No |
| Sign-in to a system | Your own, after install | The publisher's, nothing to set up |
| What you can do | Use and add to it | Use it read-only |
What your own copy holds
Installing makes a new agent in your current workspace. It takes its name, icon and job title from the card. Some cards let you pick the name in Name this installation.
The publisher's skills and reference documents come with it, read-only. On top, you add your own documents, skills, chats and tasks. Those stay yours, and private until you share the agent.
A connector copy has no connection until you sign in. The publisher's connection is never copied to it.
Each copy counts toward your plan's agent limit. If you're at the limit, the install stops and says so.
What updates and what doesn't
| Part | Follows the publisher's changes? |
|---|---|
| The publisher's skills and reference documents | Yes, automatically |
| A skill you cloned to edit | No, it's yours now |
| Your own documents, skills, chats and tasks | No, the publisher never touches them |
| Name and job title | No, set when you install |
To change a library skill, clone it first. See Updating a skill.
Installing twice
After your first install, the card's button reads Install again. Each click makes another separate copy with its own chats and documents.
For a connector, the second copy is a second connector agent. Connect a different account to it, such as another Xero organisation.
A Shared connection · read-only card makes no copy, so installing it again changes nothing.
Uninstall a copy
- In the menu, open the row menu of the installed agent.
- Choose Archive.
- Click Uninstall to confirm.
This archives your copy and every task under it. Restore them from Settings → Archive. Only the person who installed a copy can uninstall it, and removing yours never affects anyone else's.
