Agents

Schedules

Run an agent on a repeat or on chosen days, with no one at the keyboard.

A schedule runs your instructions in an agent's chat automatically. It can run every few hours, or every weekday at 09:00. Set up the daily briefing once, then read the results.

A schedule can also run just once. See One-time reminders.

Ask the agent

The quickest way is to ask in chat, such as every Monday at 8, summarise last week's invoices. The agent replies with a Schedule card. Nothing is set up until you press its button.

Schedule from chat
  1. 1

    Ask in chat

Say what should run and when.

  2. 2

    Check the card

Check its Name, the timing under Repeats, the chat it Runs in, and What it runs each time. Change anything that is wrong.

  3. 3

    Confirm

Click Schedule, or Cancel to drop it. The card shrinks to one line: "Scheduled", the timing and the chat it runs in.

The agent's Schedule card in chat: the name, timing, Runs in, the instructions, and Schedule.

On a shared agent, the person who asked, the owner or a Full member can confirm the card. Everyone else sees it read-only. A schedule you ask for on Telegram is set up straight away, with no card.

Create one yourself

Set up a schedule
  1. 1

    Open Create a task

Click the + beside Tasks, or press ⌘ ⇧ O. On Windows, press Ctrl Shift O. Then pick the Schedule tab.

  2. 2

    Say when

Under Repeats, choose Once, Every… or On chosen days. Set the date, interval or days, then the time and timezone. The line at the bottom reads it back, such as "Runs Mondays 09:00 SGT".

  3. 3

    Say where

If Runs in shows, pick the chat the runs land in. It starts on the chat you are in.

  4. 4

    Say what

Write the instructions as you would in chat. You can @-mention documents, pick a skill with /, attach files with + and choose the model.

  5. 5

    Submit

Click Submit. The schedule is named from your first words. The first run happens at the first scheduled time.

If the Schedule tab is greyed out, you can't manage schedules on that agent. Ask its owner.

A schedule that repeats every few minutes or hours has no time or timezone. The shortest gap is one minute. Timezones cover Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Jakarta, Bangkok, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Tokyo, Kolkata, Dubai, Perth and UTC. A chat holds up to 20 schedules, each with up to 5 files.

Where schedules run

A schedule runs in an existing chat: the agent's main chat or one of its tasks. It doesn't create a new task.

In the agent sidebar, each schedule sits indented under the chat it runs in, with a clock after its name. Hover it to see its timing. A schedule that is switched off shows greyed.

In the chat, each run starts with a quiet "Received message" line and the schedule's name. The answer follows as usual.

A run in the chat: the Received message line with the schedule's name, then the agent's answer.

What a run is like

A scheduled run is a normal turn with no one watching. It costs what any turn costs. Activity marks in the sidebar point you to its results.

Each run uses the permission mode of the chat it runs in, which starts as Auto-accept edits. Anything that still asks, such as using Xero, waits about ten minutes on a card. If no one answers, that action is refused.

Watch it before you walk away

For a hands-off routine, let it run once while you watch. Then set its chat to Bypass all, so no card holds it up.

Send results to Telegram

The schedule form has a Telegram switch. It works once you have paired with the agent's Telegram bot; until then it is greyed and says why. Turn it on to send each result to your Telegram chat with the agent. When several Telegram accounts are paired, the person who set the schedule picks one under Send to.

Change, pause or remove

Click a schedule's row in the agent sidebar to open Edit schedule. You can also choose Edit schedule from a task's ⋯ menu, or Edit on Settings → Schedules. Change the name, timing, instructions or model, then click Save.

To pause it, flip the switch at the top of Edit schedule from Enabled to Disabled. It stays in the sidebar, greyed, until you switch it back.

To remove it, click Delete in Edit schedule, then Delete schedule. Past runs stay in the chat.

A row marked Missed couldn't run at its time. A one-time schedule that fails switches off and is marked Failed. A repeating one keeps going, and its tooltip shows the last error. Invalid means the person who set it lost access to the agent; only they can switch it back on.

You can also ask the agent to list, pause, resume, change or delete your schedules.

All your schedules in one place

Settings → Schedules lists every schedule that runs as you, and every schedule on agents you own. Pause all my schedules there stops every schedule that runs as you.
