Word and PowerPoint

Word and PowerPoint files, kept as the originals you uploaded.

Word files stay exactly as you uploaded them. Nothing is converted, so the file you download is the file you put in. PowerPoint decks work the same way, at the end of this page.

Add one

Drag the file onto the Documents tab. Or click the ⊕ beside its Documents heading and choose Word (.docx). Files up to 25 MB upload. Creating and uploading covers folders and dropping several files.

Open and read

The file opens in a viewer with a View only badge, showing its pages. You can scroll and zoom from the ⋯ menu. Neither changes the file.

On an agent shared with you as a viewer, the badge reads Viewer, Cannot Edit instead.

A Word file open with the View only badge, and its ⋯ menu showing Zoom and Download as DOCX.

Ask the agent

The agent reads Word files. Mention one in chat and ask about it.

"List every payment term in @Supplier agreement."

You don't type into a Word file yourself. To change one, ask the agent. It edits a copy and saves it over the same document, so the link stays the same. The open file updates by itself.

The agent also writes new Word files. Ask for one by name, such as "draft the letter as a Word file".

To write it yourself, write a note and export it from its ⋯ menu as Word (.docx).

Download

The ⋯ menu downloads the original with Download as DOCX.

Files that need converting

FileWhat to do
Legacy Word .docSave as .docx, then upload
Password-protectedUpload an unprotected copy
Over 25 MBSplit it or trim it first

PowerPoint

Drag a .pptx or .ppt deck onto the Documents tab, or choose PowerPoint (.pptx, .ppt) from the ⊕ menu. It opens with a View only badge and shows its slides in a scrolling column. The ⋯ menu has Zoom and Download as PPTX.

The agent reads .pptx decks. It can't read a legacy .ppt, so save it as .pptx first.

The agent can't write PowerPoint files. Ask for slides and it makes a PDF deck instead.

Chat attachments are separate

A file attached in chat is only for that conversation. Upload it to the Documents tab to keep it. See Attachments.
